• Darmstadt Hessisches Landesmuseum review in pictures

Last week I stayed a few days in Darmstadt (Germany) to do research for my book (about the servants of Stadtholder William V).

And…of course, I also visited the Hessisches landesmuseum of Darmstadt. A museum I can recommend  if you‘re in the area.

Below is a visual review with a focus on the topics that interest me (blacks in Art, Arnold Böcklin, Rubens, Interbellum, 15e and 16e century, nature presentations etc) . 

I was not allowed to photograph everything: like several rooms with Joseph Buys and contemporary art.
